Nursing shortage in Texas

Is there a nursing shortage in Texas!!!!

this is a response to an old post, but i did want to 'chime in', i am vaguely hispanic and yes, the border towns are a bit 'rough around the edges' and certainly not for everyone... many of my friends left the border because of the 'problems' of living there, and honestly, it does help to be from that area, or one like it, to see the 'good things'... one of which is being able to help people who need it. however, southern border towns are for those that are tougher than the rest... i don't like the dust or cartel violence, but i do love the food and brown people. (oh, and i really wish i spoke better spanish...language is a barrier). peace in the 'hood'

Thanks for responding. Can you tell me why these hospitals are having trouble staffing nurses? I'm just curious.

I have worked with a few Filipino nurses that were sponsored by some of the hospitals in the Valley in Texas. They are deplorable and dangerous working conditions- too many patient to nurse ration, little or no ancillary staff and minimal equipment. Do a lot of research before committing there. Once their slave contracts are over- they run like hell to get a way from that area.
