Perhaps we're the wrong audience to whom to make your pitch. Wouldn't making your case to the BON or maybe, a friendly state legislator be more effective? A local SON or hospital?
If you have a comprehensive data/fact filled search to present, I think that there could be interest, esp from an entrepreneurial position.
From your perspective, depending on circumstances, travel might be an option.
Personally, I'd find a FT course unwieldy. I couldn't make the time. And to have such a compact, time-intensive program would also be difficult. You'd have to consider your audience. Most likely, they'd be returning-to-work SAHMs who still have family obligations. Or those returning after illness.
I realize that 'you can't please all the people all the time', but something mid-way seems to be the better approach.
What "nursing shortage"?? And I'm sure that the organizations that are offering refresher courses now would be willing and able to offer a shorter, more intense program if there was sufficient demand. I'm guessing the programs are set up the way they are because that's what the "market" has wanted. I agree it might be nice to have more options, but I'm not seeing that as any kind of urgent crisis.

Hello Maryland Nurses !
I'd like to address the issue of licensing renewal. In my quest to obtain the 100 hours for a Refresher Course, I've only found programs that are Part Time and last 6 months.
We need programs that are FT, to let Nurses complete their 100 hours in a timely fashion and return to the Work Fource within 1 Month.
I'd be happy to be an Instructor to make this happen.
Thoughts? Comments?
Thank you!
