Hello,
I am trying to get into an ADN program and I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any schools who aren't impossible to get into. I currently live in Milwaukee, WI but I'm willing to locate. I'm really interested in the Portland area or basically anywhere west. I already have a bachelor's degree in business and have completed A&P 1&2 and Microbiology. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Laura, I'm in Portland. Your ADN options around here are: Portland Community College, Clackamas Community College, Mt. Hood Community College, or Clark College across the river in Vancouver Washington.
I don't know much about Mt. Hood CC except that last I checked, you had to be a CNA to apply. Portland Community College uses a lottery system - as long as you have about a 2.5 (I believe) GPA you can apply, but they have so many applicants for their program that your chances are very small. Clark College has a rating system where you are given points for GPA, coursework completed, previous degree, etc. and they take the students with the best points. I'm not terribly sure about Clackamas CC - I know you have to take the NET test and they use that in their criteria.
Some webpages for you:
PCC is http://www.pcc.edu
Clark is http://www.clark.edu
Mt. Hood is http://www.mhcc.edu/
Clackamas is http://www.clackamas.cc.or.us/
Hope that helps (and I hope my info is accurate). Those sites should give you a lot more to go on!

In Michigan, some collages go by GPA(like Baker College) some go by points( you do get points for a degree) At Lansing Community College. There is not a waiting list at Kirtland Community (where I attend)

Are you only interested in ADN or are you also interested in BSN?
