Nursing schools

Published

Hi. My name is Shenika. I am desperately seeking to find a nursing school. I really want to be an RN, but right now I really need to find a job. I live in chicago, I was wondering if anybody knew of any community colleges or vocational schools that offer LPN. I have requested info before but all I kept getting were medical assissting schools, and that's not what I'm looking for. Can anybody help me? P.S. I am not looking forward to taking 300 prerequisites classes just to get in. I hope someone can help me!:o

Where are you? There are several around me but I could be 1500 miles away from you. Best thing is to call every college that is a drivable distance from you and ask what nursing programs they offer

all nursing schools - a complete directory of u.s. nursing programs and your #1 resource for nursing programs admissions info

i used to live in the chicago area, and i worked in a hospital there, when i was searching for schools, i was told most of the hospitals do not higher lpn's some nursing homes do though. so i am not sure how many schools there are. the above link should help you locate schools in your area though.

i wanted to add however; if your looking for a job you should look to hospitals and see if they have any pct (patient care tech) positions available. that would be a great place to start and atleast 5 years ago when i was there, they would train you. and most hospitals offer education reimbursement as well. i live in ca now and they have none of those programs, they make you take a full semester to become a cna and be "certified". whic is the samething as a pct
