nursing schools in Oregon

Does anyone know anything about the nursing schools in Oregon?

Right now I am looking into going to either Chemeketa Community college and getting what I think is an ADN then transferring to OHSU for a BSN

or...

going straight to OHSU and doing a BSN.

Does anyone know ANYTHING about these two schools...

Also, how competitive is it to get into nursing school. When I spoke to a counselor she said it was very competitive, which I expect.

To give you some background, I already have a BS degree, so I am not too worried....

Just would like some more info on nursing school from people with experience!!!

Hello, I just wanted to agree that walla walla is a fantastic school and clear up a couple of misconceptions. first, walla walla college is a christian college that is affiliated with the seventh day adventist church, you dont have to be adventist or christian to go there. my class consisted of a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds including muslim and atheist. the extent of the religious aspect of the program is that some professors choose to pray before exams, and there are some religion courses required but these can be world religions, and spiritual care of patients. whew!

second, walla walla college school of nursing is in portland!!! there is no "distance" or "commute". walla walla college has their main campus in college place washington, the nursing school is in southeast portland near portland adventist hospital and mall 205.

everyone who wants a good bsn education should look closely at walla walla!

Hi Beth-

I am applying to OHSU this winter. Do you know if the new staggering of the junior class means they are accepting more students total - or the same number of students at different times?

Thanks!

Jenna
