You may want to look at a community college that which uses a multi-criteria selection process that gives points for being a current CNA, and experience/volunteer work in a health care setting. At my school you would receive 10pts for your CNA and another 5pts for experience. I would also suggest doing as well as possible on a pre-entrance exam such as the TEAS or HESI. I am in the process of waiting to see if I've been accepted into an ADN program, so I understand your anxiety. I wish you luck!

Hello,
I am in the long struggle of applying for nursing schools. I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, prerequisite GPA of 3.3 and science GPA of 3.03. I am a CNA and currently work in a hospital and I also have volunteer experience in hospice. I am having a hard time finding a school that will accept me with a GPA of only 3.0. I have a lot of credits so trying to raise it could take years!!!!!!! If anyone has any advice or schools that I might be competitive for please let me know!
Thanks!
