Nursing school workload

Published

I posted a couple of days ago asking about everyone's schedules, trying to understand how much time it actually takes to study and do nursing school but I still can't really get a good feel for it. I suppose I really won't until I'm actually there but I am wondering if some of you could describe it in a different way.

I know that nursing school is unique and it's hard to compare it to anything else but if you could compare the work load of NS and studying, what would you compare it to?....a full time job, a job and a part time, having three kids, having five kids, having five kids and full time job? Having a full time, part time, five kids and renovating the house ? ;-) Just kidding. Make up your own combo and tell me what you would compare it to.

Thanks!

its kind of like a full time job and going to school full time at the same time, on top of whatever other job you have, plus kids and a family if you have one.

It's a full time job with school and work about 40 hour commitment. I have no kids and not married so I can't comment on that. Is it the hardest thing I've done, nope but then again I was in the Army for 6 years that was wayyyy harder then NS (physically and emotionally) so far. Mentally NS is harder but I like to read and read things ALL the time and I love to learn so I don't see it as being that hard. Anyone can do it if they just put their mind into it I mean it is the most occupied job in America so it's not like it is impossible there are MILLIONS of nurses, so if they can do it you can too!

Nursing school is definitely a full-time job on its own!
