Nursing School to Transfer Credits

Published

My daughter who entered college last August 2008, is currently taking all the pre-requisites and few college generals so she can get into Nursing Department. But there is no guarantee that she will be accepted due to the waiting list in the RN program (I heard its harder to get into RN than BSN). I thought of enrolling her in the Philippines this coming June 2009, then pull her out after 3 years, after finishing her Junior and have her continue her last year of nursing in the US. This will eliminate the extra 1 year in nursing in the Philippines. Doing so, she will not be branded as a "foreign graduate student" if she graduates here. And she doesn't have to take that extra test given to all foreign students coming to work in the US.

Do you know of any school in Manila that she can enroll and can still take her credits when she returns back home in the US? I am also considering a non coed nursing school for girls. What would you recommend? I heard St Benilde College, sister school of LaSalle, Manila is very good international school. Do they offer nursing course? Also is it possible for her not to take unnecessary classes e.g. Rizal Course in the Philippines? I just thought if she's coming back home to finish her course it doesn't make sense to take that kind of class.

I would appreciate any info and comments.

Does your daughter have a say in this?

It's fine with her.
