What is nursing school like? I would like to know is it harder or easier than expected? What surprised you the most about it? I have decided I'm going to nursing school and then law school and I'm not doing it to prove anything to anyone, I just want to help people medically and legally. I really am curious about what nursing school is like though.

I am in my first semester so here is what I have learned. It not so much that the material itself is that complicated. It the fact that they give you alot of it at one time in multiple classes. Its hard to balance all of it. Plus on top of classes you have clinicals, for me I have to wake up at 4 am so the lack of sleep thing is a little rough. Its not as crazy as everyone makes it out to be and you are very capable of doing. I think of the reasons its so hard is because you have to take this vast amount if information you learned and then apply to a scenario and critically think. The questions are alot more critical thinking then prereq classes. You can memorize all the information word for word but it won't necessarily help you. But honestly not as bad as it seems you can definitely do it.
Thank you very much

It really just depends. I had to change my habits completely and learn new ways to study in order to grasp all of the material that nursing school throws at you. The material itself isn't hard, but there's a lot of information that you have to learn.
You will get a lot of exposure and experience with patients once you start doing your clinical rotations. This is where you can apply your knowledge, as well as observe how things are done on the unit.
Study, study, study. Make friends with people in your program from the beginning. Ask questions. Meet with your professors for tips and feedback. Nursing school is hard. However, it's doable if you're willing to put in the work.
