Is it better to go straight into a 2 year nursing program and get an Associate Degree to be an RN or Should I start out as an LPN? I will be possibly going full time.....But if it is better to go full time - - I will .. . .Any suggestions???

The way I have seen most schools set up, it is really hard to not go full time. They have a series of clinical experiences that generally build upon each experience, but call the school you plan on attending and find out how that works. I did all my prereq's part time because I only needed a few.

As far as getting the LPN, I wouldn't do it, personally, if your main goal is to be an RN. but really only you can decide what is best for you.

If you are not sure if nursing is really what you want to do, go for the LPN first. It depends on how much money you have to spend. I had very little when I went for my LPN, and in 12 months, I was working as a nurse. I began as an LPN, and would not have done it any other way. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
