I have just been invited to interview with my top choice ABSN program. I was wondering if anyone has advice on what types of questions I should be prepared to answer or what types of questions I should have ready to ask them? Thanks in advance!

I luckily didn't have to interview for nursing school when I went but I would definitely count on them asking you why you became a nurse as an initial question! Just general interview advice would be to research possible questions and have some of your answers planned. I'm not saying have a script memorized because that seems forced and fake but have some personal anecdotes ready to go in the back of your mind so when you're interviewing you aren't stuck going umm because you can't think of a time that you overcome a challenge or what not! Interviews go best when you are relaxed and natural. Try to get your jitters out before you sit down to speak. Look the part too! Wear a pressed/clean suit that looks as professional as possible. Nursing is a respected career and even though scrubs are pretty much upgraded pajamas you want the people interviewing you to be pleased with your appearance. Also, have some questions ready to ask them at the end because this looks like you are prepared and did your research ahead of time. Just be honest and sell yourself without seeming too reheorificed or over confident. Good luck, you got this!!
