I don't know if u have a degree already, but u may want to try Beth Israel's program, I think it's called "ATOP," or something like that. I believe it's Thursday eve, Friday whole day (only day you'll have to sacrifice) and Saturday. Or you may want to try an online program and have your clinicals locally in the evening. Check it out.
Thanks for the information. I checked the QCC website and it looks like they do have a good variety of opportunities for non-standard schedules. The problem is that I don't own a car and it would take me 1.5 hours each way to get there by public transportation.
Well my plan as of now is to work on prereq's and shelve nursing school until my family situation allows for it.
I graduated from Borough of Manhattan CC in December from the evening program.
The lecture classes were all at night from 5:30-ish to 9:30.
Our clinicals were on Saturday morning though, from 8 am - 4pm.
The evening program at BMCC requires that you complete most of the pre-requisites first -- A & P I & II, Micro, Math, English and speech.
Once you're in the clinicals -- it runs two lectures during the week, from 5:45 pm - 9:15 pm. The only clinical is on Saturday from 8 am - 4 pm.
Good luck!

Does anyone know of a nursing school in the NYC area that does not require early morning classes? Right now that is my biggest obstacle. All the schools I've contacted so far have a full day from 8:00 AM and I simply cannot be out of the house that early. I have kids at home and school doesn't start until nine. It's very hard to find a babysitter that early in the morning and besides I don't think it's fair to the kids. My dh works from 7AM. He's home in the afternoon so I'm really OK with doing a full day, as long as the day starts after 10AM. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
