Nursing School Books

Nurses General Nursing

Hello I will be attending nursing school this coming fall at Pasadena city college. I was wondering about the textbooks required for nursing school. My friend has older edition textbooks when he went to nursing school is it okay if I use those. How strict are nursing schools in buying textbooks. If anyone could give me any information about this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a link to directtextbook.com. They price compare text books through 30+ different sites. They compare new and used prices AND will let you know how much is charged in shipping. It is very fast, and you can search by title, ISBN, author or even key words.

I found a book through this site that was selling for $25. That book was selling everywhere else for $75-$100 (even on Amazon and ebay).

Just yesterday it directed me to Amazon.ca (Canada). I bought a book from there, and I saved $50- even with “international shipping.” I would have never thought to look at some of the places this site sends me to.

This site even shows some places the Rent books. (I've never done it, but it is an interesting thought)

Re: older edition texts- I tried that last semester and it didn’t work out for me too well. My instructor would ask for us to do specific problems on pg XX, and my questions and pg #’s wouldn’t match up. I ended up slowing down the class because I needed to look at my neighbor’s book.

Best of Luck in your quest to save money!
