I will be applying to nursing school in the spring but I'm already done taking all my prerequisites. So, I registered for some extra classes like medical terminology and first aid/CPR. Will that boost my chances of getting into nursing school?

Typically, it will not. Every school is different and has different considerations, though. CPR is always required before your start date, from what I've seen. It's a class specifically for health care providers, though. If you're taking anything else it will not be accepted.

All schools have different requirements on how they accept people. So, you would have to talk to a counselor or nursing program representative at your school to see what they look at when they accept people.
Good luck, I hope you make it in.
I know those classes aren't a requirement but I just thought schools look at the most well rounded candidate. Like some people have volunteered in hospitals or even worked as CNA's. I'm applying to Marymount University by the way. Thank you!

That's going to depend on how the program evaluates candidates for admission. If they only look at the relevant prereq grades and don't have a resume/interview/essay portion in which you mention this information, then it's not going to factor in because they aren't going to know. Because I imagine if they only use your prereq grades to factor into your ranking, then they aren't going to waste time looking over your entire transcript.

Wouldn't hurt imo

That depends on your school. In my school for example, having a health care certificate or license such as LVN, EMT, or CNA could boost your chances. Find out what your school is looking for.

I don't think it'll hurt to have those extra courses but as others mentioned most programs have a specific criteria already set in place to determine who they accept and a lot of times it has to do with grades you earn in the prerequisite courses. At least that's how the university I went to was. I was accepted to the college but not the nursing major right so I had to take courses and maintain certain grades to be considered for the nursing program when I reapplied.
Good luck!
