Are you an Australian or Kiwi with visa or Permanent resident?

The Royal college of Nursing offers government scholarships...if you are working within their criteria's.

Australia may be painted as the land of milk and honey and of handouts, but giving scholarships to study what is a basic nursing course to foreigners is being a bit optimistic. Especially when Australian citizens themselves find scholarships very difficult to obtain, even for nursing.

I have no idea how people come to Australia especially the ones who claim to come from 3rd world countries and afford to pay the massive amount put on courses for international students....I think most borrow from family as once you have studied here for 2 years and eligible for pr then family members who helped out can then be sponsored out here by the pr person/past student, so they see at as worth all the sacrifices. So the uni's here survive by the pr carrot.

The unis survive by monies from the international students as well as the local ones.Most international students work as well as studying that's not easy.Just because they are from a third world country it doesn't mean all of them are living in extreme poverty.Family does help out but they also play their part by working the hours that they are allowed to do and contributing to the country's tax system.Most people that "claim" to be from 3rd world countries are actually from 3rd world countries.If they succesfully complete their studies and get pr then it's good for the country which has a shortage of nurses.

Whilst it's worth trying to get funding for nursing courses from the government international students have to be aware that they have to pay fees just like the many local students that did not manage to get scholarships.That is neither the local students nor international students fault
