I am applying for BSN prorams now. I am just wondering what a nursing residency consists of. Is it required after passing the NCLEX to get a job? Does it pay less than a new grad would normally make? Thank you for any help.

A nursing residency is not required after passing NCLEX. Rather, it is similar to orientation or the same as orientation, depending on how a specific facility handles residencies. Whether it pays RN wages or a training wage will also be facility dependent.
