Nursing Program at Union County College

Hi,

so I just applied to the nursing program at UCC for winter 2017 about 4 days ago. I'm currently a full-time student at MCC and I've completed all of my Pre-reqs with them. Now I'm going to take life span psychology and a&p1 with MCC. After the fall semester I'm looking into transferring top UCC. I been researching a lot on this school, however, everything that has been put out there is pretty old. With that being said, I'm looking to speak to anyone who recently graduated from UCC or is currently attending it. My questions are the following:

With me having all the pre-reqs all done will they accept me right away?

Do they still require to take ADM 110? What is this class about?

Do you have to build your GPA with them?

is there an entrance exam?

How good are the professors in there?

any childish behavior?

Overall, please tell me what ever are ALL the requirements and how long did it take for you to get an invitation?

Also, what is the next step after submitting your application? What can I do to make my process go by quicker?

Thank you so much for your time and responding to my questions :)

With me having all the pre-reqs all done will they accept me right away?

No. You will have to establish a gpa at ucc and take their pre reqs

Do they still require to take ADM 110? What is this class about?

Yes. The previous years they would allow you to take it while in the program but I believe starting from Spring 2016 it is now a required course. Pretty simple if you take it with a good professor. It's all online so you have to buy the books and codes which total up to about $300. It's a class to improve your typing speed and accuracy, get you familiar with word, office, etc.

Do you have to build your GPA with them?

Yes. Although they say you don't have to but the chances of you getting in is very slim being that they will accept people with a gpa before you.

is there an entrance exam?

No. But you will have to take the TEAS exam when you start Nur130 but it will not be counted against you. It is just to see where you stand.

How good are the professors in there?

For me, I've had pretty good professors but this is going to be my second semester there. I've heard horror stories but most of them are good and caring. Just use Rate my professor.

any childish behavior?

Alot of the students are straight out of HS but that didn't faze me because I was more concerned about my work.

Overall, please tell me what ever are ALL the requirements and how long did it take for you to get an invitation?

Eng 101 & 102, Bio 105, Adm 110, Chem 114, Psych 101 and the other courses can be taken while in the program.

It took me 1 semester. I transferred to ucc in Jan. Took Adm110 and Chem114 in the spring, got a 3.7 gpa, applied for fall and was waitlisted because they cater their own students before a transfer student. I didnt think I would get in being that alot of people are applying right now but a good amount of people who do apply have other schools in mind so spots do open up. I got an email in July stating I can come in and register for Nur130.

Also, what is the next step after submitting your application? What can I do to make my process go by quicker?

Nothing really. You just have to be patient and wait on them.

Congratulations on being accepted into the nursing program. Thank you for replying back to my post and answering all my questions. I decided to pass by the school yesterday for them to evaluate my transcripts and they said exactly what you said, well basically everything you said. Besides that how was chemistry for you in that school?
