  1. Thanks VerticalHorizon. I will keep those things in mind and I will def do what Emmjayy said.
  2. Hi, Emmjayy. I thought of your PowerPoint idea but I was too afraid of skipping over something that I was trying to read the entire chapters. As for the terminology, I have to know 3 chapters by next week and 6 by 10/15. I just purchased some flash cards to get the ball rolling on that. Thanks for responding.
  3. So I was finally accepted into a nursing program... yay me right ? Classes started last week for me and I just want to cry... again. I've worked so hard to get here but I'm just so ready to give up. I didn't even make it to 1 exam yet. Everything just seems so overwhelming. I know this is what I signed up for but I feel out of balance. I cant find a rhythm. It's just not flowing for me right now. The fundamentals book we are reading from just seems so discouraging. On top of that I have to practice my math, and keep up with my medical terminology. I feel so lost right now because I'm reading literally everything but it won't stick. I'm applying myself but idk what else to do. I just needed to vent a little.
  4. With me having all the pre-reqs all done will they accept me right away? No. You will have to establish a gpa at ucc and take their pre reqs Do they still require to take ADM 110? What is this class about? Yes. The previous years they would allow you to take it while in the program but I believe starting from Spring 2016 it is now a required course. Pretty simple if you take it with a good professor. It's all online so you have to buy the books and codes which total up to about $300. It's a class to improve your typing speed and accuracy, get you familiar with word, office, etc. Do you have to build your GPA with them? Yes. Although they say you don't have to but the chances of you getting in is very slim being that they will accept people with a gpa before you. is there an entrance exam? No. But you will have to take the TEAS exam when you start Nur130 but it will not be counted against you. It is just to see where you stand. How good are the professors in there? For me, I've had pretty good professors but this is going to be my second semester there. I've heard horror stories but most of them are good and caring. Just use Rate my professor. any childish behavior? Alot of the students are straight out of HS but that didn't faze me because I was more concerned about my work. Overall, please tell me what ever are ALL the requirements and how long did it take for you to get an invitation? Eng 101 & 102, Bio 105, Adm 110, Chem 114, Psych 101 and the other courses can be taken while in the program. It took me 1 semester. I transferred to ucc in Jan. Took Adm110 and Chem114 in the spring, got a 3.7 gpa, applied for fall and was waitlisted because they cater their own students before a transfer student. I didnt think I would get in being that alot of people are applying right now but a good amount of people who do apply have other schools in mind so spots do open up. I got an email in July stating I can come in and register for Nur130. Also, what is the next step after submitting your application? What can I do to make my process go by quicker? Nothing really. You just have to be patient and wait on them.
  5. Hey ladies, I sent you both a pm but I am not sure if you can see it. How is the semester coming along ?
  6. Hey @Amilcarnj, Thanks for responding. Funny thing is I'm in that same situation. I have my AS in biology so my pre req credits transferred over. I'm doing adm 110 and chem 114 this spring so I can apply for the program. I believe the only non nursing courses I have to take after that is child psych and sociology which I might do during the summer and winter. I do plan to take the nursing courses alone so that it can be my main focus. So my thing now is deciding on if I can do Nure130 in the summer.
  7. I def will. I'm sure you will be fine, just keep your mind on nursing and your head in the books. I'll be rooting for you.
  8. I'll think about it. I really want to but I dont want to rush and mess up and besides I'll be commuting from Nyc while working a part time job. I know summer courses are usually Mon-Thur or Mon-Fri so idk if I can do that plus staying on top of my studies but I will def look into it.
  9. Congrats!!! I am registered for adm and chem 114 for the spring semester so hopefully all goes well. Im still on the fence about taking 130 in the summer being that it will be condensed. Keep me posted on how it's going for you if you can, best of luck.
  10. Any advice for a transfer student trying to get into Trinitas ? Do you have any good words of wisdom or tips or even a heads up ? Has anyone taken NURE130 in the summer and would that be a bad idea to do so ? I can't wait to hear from you all.
  11. @ayelah_ganda I wish you the best of luck!! Keep me posted on how it goes. @Miss Infermiera Thanks, I try to remind myself of these things when I'm being too hard on myself.
  12. Thank you all so much. I appreciate the love and support. I'm not entirely over this but I am feeling better. I have accepted that I just won't be starting spring 2016. I can retest and I will its just really hard to focus especially with all of the pressures in life. For me I was constantly thinking omg I am about to be 25 I reeeeally need to get the ball rolling. Smh I'm just going to take this journey a day at a time or I will just end up going insane. Thanks again for the encouragement :)
  13. So I took the TEAS V exam on 10/19. I thought I had this in the bag. I walked in there nervous but confident in my self. I thought I was going to come out in the high 70s at least. Boy was I wrong. When it turned out that I actually scored a 65, I felt my heart drop. I was in disbelief. I am so sad and depressed. I failed. I feel so dumb. Alot of people on here say that this is a common sense exam and that they barely studied and got 80s and 90s and yet here I am with a struggling 65. This has to be the biggest blow for me right now. I don't know what to do. I hear that this test is so randomn. Urrrrgghhhhhhh.
  14. Hey everyone, I appreciate you guys for replying. I will be applying to take the TEAS in October. I'm unsure how to prepare for it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there are many versions of the TEAS. I was told that Wcc accepts the highest scores so I really want to rock this exam. I'm about to register for classes I was thinking of taking pharmacology and Dosage but idk if those two are too much plus studying for the TEAS.
