:p I am extremly excited!:) I will be starting my nursing classes in the fall and have a question about one of the classes I am going to be taking. The course is call Nursing Process I and I will be taking the second part (Nursing Processes II) in the spring. I read the course description but am still not sure exactly what I will be doing in this class. I was not aware that this class was considered a clinical until I got a letter in the mail informing that I need to prepare for this class by purchasing my uniforms and a nurses kit. I have not yet registered and will not unitl the first wk in August because the advisor that I have been assign to will be off camup for the duration of the summer. I want to know have any other students had to take a course that may be similar to this and what did you do in this class. I would really like to start to read material throughout the summer to get a head start. Thanks in advance.

I did my 1st clinical at Van Duyn, then the second rotation was at University Hosp, I had the Ortho floor.. I was really glad we started at Van Duyn, because I had NO idea what the heck I was doing!!! And, NOT to be mean in any way, but neither did many of the residents. So for that I was thankful because I was sooo nervous in the beginning. But by the time we got to the hosp, I felt much more confident, and I had a great time. Even got to go into surgery with one of my patients!!!!! Do you have medical field experience? I didn't like LTR work- way too sad for me. Ortho was too redundant for me... patients very drugged up because most were fresh out of surgery... did some cool things though. Some of my classmates did clinical at Crouse, so I think those are the 3 main places we do them. I could be wrong, maybe Community too? So for your 1st semester you will do 2 rotations. Huh, now I can't wait for school to start!!!! I go back Aug 16 cause I am taking a one credit clinical intensive, which will be 5 nights from 3-11 at the hosp. I'm glad of it cause I did go out of sequence so I haven't done real patient care since November! Except if you want to count my kids and b/f!! hehehe

how do the clinicals work? all i was told is that we do clinicals all over syracuse.

are nursing processes I and II all done in LTC facilities?

thanks!! :p

you wouldn't happen to be a crouse student??

:p

Hay what is a crouse student?

a crouse student is the name of the school we go to (Crouse Hospital) :) we just realized we both go to the same one, small world!
