Nursing pre reqs

Published

Hello,

What pre requisites are you all taking for nursing school? And how many hours a week do you dedicate for each class

Specializes in CNA.

I am currently taking A&P 1 w/Lab and College Math ( I need Algebra) as my pre-reqs. But I am also taking some course classes also: My humanities elective-Music Appreciation and Human Growth and Development for a total of 13hrs. I can't tell you how much I study because I study ALL the time! LOL

I'm taking

Microbiology + Lab

Human Development

Food & Nutrition

Writing (a step above basic)

Computer Science

I take about 3 hours for both Micro and Human Development

Food & Nutrition & Writing get about 2 hours (they aren't that difficult)

Computer Science gets an hour (super easy lol)

Oh a week...just multiply times 6 and there's my answer lol

Critical thinking English, Women's History, and Intro Chemistry, and Early Childhood dev. I dedicate majority of my time to my chemistry and my other class's are pretty easy so 2 hrs/wk for the others lol I LOVE science too, plus its the most important grade for my GPA ;)

I'm a career changer who will be applying to Accelerated BSN programs, so it feels like I have to take a billion classes - Chem 1 & 2, Bio, Micro, A&P 1&2, Intro to Psych, Human Growth & Development, Nutrition, Statistics, and maybe Ethics, if I don't run out of steam. I also volunteer in the ED of my local hospital. Because my husband is in school full time, I have to work full time, so I am taking one class per semester, which helps me understand the material and get A's. Not including class time, I spend about 3-5 hours a week on homework. I wish I could quit my job and just take classes, but for now I'm just going low and slow...

All the best to you, it seems busy but trust me, you will succeed :)
