Nursing pre-reqs

How long does is on avarage takes to finish your pre-reqs starting from scratch, SPC College told me it takes atlaest a year, another college told me 1 semester. Are all schools the same or does it depends on your own performance?

It depends on a lot of things. What type of program are you going into? How many pre-reqs does that program require? Are you going to take the pre-reqs full or part-time? It could take you one semester or 10...talk to an advisor.

How many hours (semester or quarter) of prerequisite courses do you need. When I started University, we (Nursing) took 20 hours a semester. That was full time and I was very young at the time. For example 3h English 3h psych, 4h anatomy, 3h Nutrition, 3h Sociology, 4h Chemistry. That was one semester.

If you worked at it you could have 40 hours in 2 semesters. Now if you are taking 3h at a time......it might take 10-15 semesters.

Nonetheless, welcome to the Nursing Family and good luck.

It has taken me like 4 semesters to complete ALL the pre-reqs for the nursing program. But I did all my general ed classes at the same time. I could have done it faster, but I wanted to do well in them.
