Nursing in portland vs Respiratory Thearapy

Published

Hi I am a mom of 3 and 30 and have a degree as a medical assistant but haven't used it in awhile. my passion is healthcare and I am going back to school but trying to make the right decision. I am looking into respiratory thearpy at concorde or registered nursing at itt tech both in Portland Oregon... I am nervouse about nursing cause from what I see they aren't hiring anyone without a bsn and I am not sure about itt tech, but with respiratory I know there aren't as many job openings. anyone have any advice? I need to make a decision soon. thanks :)

You do the classroom portion online the clinicals you, of course go to the hospital. Excelsior also has an online pre-licensure program that works a little differently. Lots of threads here about their program.

Well, you may find yourself having to choose a nursing home depending on how the market is doing when you finish. But once you have experience you'll be able to get where you want to be. Long term and skilled nursing nurses work incredibly hard and master their time management skills. I wouldn't be so quick to eliminate a valid option for gainful employment. Good luck!
