Nursing in the Philippines

Published

ALL U.S. CITIZENS BEWARE!

Please, DO NOT take up NURSING education in the Philippines!

If you are a U.S. citizen the PRC & BON will DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU! And, you can NOT take the board exam. Therefore, you can NOT practice in the U.S. if your state requires a license from the country you were educated in.

PLEASE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY ON THE PHILIPPINES!

I have lots of American Citizens friends/classmates who took the Phil Nurse exam and Passed!! then being allowed to take NCLEX and got registered as an RN in the US...

Hi. im chinese citizien who study B.S nursing in philippine. i will graduate next year. may i ask if i can take the nursing board exam in philippine? and can i get licence of nurse? thank u so much. hope someone can give exact answer. i will really appreciate that.

Does your classmate have a dual citizenship in the Philippines? Or just a U.S. citizenship? Also, will he be able to obtain his Philippine nursing license?

How come it took you 4 years or so to finally decide that you should not have been there?

I love the country, the people, the environment. I hate the government, with a passion. They misrepresent the people in so many ways. Most of them have forgotten what the words "public servant" means...

This is just another idiotic move that the Philippine government has done. As, I said before, I understand why thousands of Filipinos try to leave the Philippines each year.

I'm currently having that problem. The PRC will allow me to take the Philippine board exam BUT it takes a lot of paper work. Also, the Philippine government will NOT give you a nursing license because you're NOT a Filipino citizen. Unless, you have a dual citizenship.

I totally understand u, because we have the same situation right now. Even though PRC allow us to take the Philippine board exam, but It is still in vain. We CAN NOT take american nursing board exam ,NCLEX or CGFNS Without a nursing license. thats the problem right now. Hope we can talk privately and find a way to figure it out. this is my email [email protected]

If you took the philippine board exam, ask prc for a certification that you passed, and a letter that as foreigners you are not allowed to get the actual hard license. You can use the two to meet the requirement for a USA state board of nursing. The US boards are not close minded, cruel, and cold like that not to ever allow you to apply for a license.

Now the process to take the exam in the philippines is longer and much paper work, BUT instead of moaning here and blaming it on the country, just go to PRC and ask what you have to do and START doing what you're supposed to do to be able to take the exam.

Good luck. From personal experience of years and years dealing with the philippine government, this is my advice to you: the key is to be nice to them and SMILE:D even when you hate dealing with them :) The more you show frustration, or being in a hurry, or anything negative, the more they will probably make it difficult for you, so that you will come to the point where you have to pay them. So just be patient. You are already in the situation, just try to make the best of it. It's better to be patient for some time dealing with the Philippine government so that you will be able to to easily get your license here. Everytime you feel frustrated dealing with them, going back and forth in traffic, just be patient and think about a brighter future once you have that RN-License in the USA

:D
