Hello!
My favorite hospital is John C. Lincoln. You can check them out at http://www.jcl.com.
Also, try these two sites to find out more about AZ living:

try not to move here from june till october :rotfl: you will think you moved to hell..............hotter than.....!
If you can work pool, rates vary from around $30 per hour. If you work premium pool for the samaritan hospitals (willing to work at desert samaritan, thunderbird, etc) they pay 42. per hour. regular staff is about 25 per hour. I'm talking er. not sure about the floors.. We are all busier in the winter, than in the summer. (everyone tries to get out of dodge). Winter weather is wonderful...............just wish it could last all year. :)

My mother was a ER nurse in Arizona for 30 years before retiring. The pay rates vary, but are very reasonable. The enviroment is awesome and sunny all year round. You have the decision of vacationing to California, Mexico, or even several different great locations within Arizona. The hospitals are always looking for nurses and are in need. I'm with a staffing company and could help you get some information if you want?

I hate to burst anyones bubble on Banner, but I worked for them in 2001-2002 at Desert and they were a horrible organization. They hired in new grads at a higher pay scale than experienced nurses, then refused to adjust the pay of the established nurses. Step increases were routinly denied. Several nurses quit then reapplied demanding a higher step because they had gone so long with no step increases. The ratios were announced as 4:1 on Peds, that lasted one month, then they moved the manager out who did it, and ratios reverted back to 5:1. When I left new grads were $18/hr. The hospital I work at now has a unit clerk making $19/hr.

I work for Banner Good Sam and I really have been treated well here. I was a hospice nurse and they trained me for tele and gave a relocation bonus to boot. I do agree with the above writer, I did have to quit and sign on again after a year to negotiate a higher level of pay. I have just transfered into a job I love and things are going great!
