Nursing Job Satisfaction

Nurses Activism

I have a question regarding nurse job satisfaction. I have worked in many areas of nursing and have found that nurses seem more overworked, less happy and looking for something new. What is the reason nurses may not be happy with their job or at work?

When Eve got kicked out of the Garden, she tried to find her way back. She is always either too bored or too stressed

Scheduling is a biggie at the hospital where I work. Also, they do not do nursing assignments by the patients acuity level. I work on telemetry and I could have 6 patients that are a train wreck.

"forced overtime", I'm glad I work in Pennsylvania because the only time they can make you work overtime is when someone calls off. If they don't schedule enough nurses, they can't make you stay over.

Lack of support from management, unsafe assignments, politics, being expected to suck it up in any circumstance, disrespectful doctors, lack of team work, being treated like a concierge/waitress, evaluations based on customer satisfaction instead of care given to patients, continual in-services on how to be a better customer service representative....I'm getting out.

Being expected to suck it up in any circumstance is something I can relate to. Safety concerns iut

the window, just "prioritize", etc. If I read another "How to manage your time more efficiently", I'll scream! Some days you can't "manage" anything and run in circles putting out fires.
