Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello future nurses!

I'm simply making this thread to have an area for updates and sharing helpful information between us. Best of luck to everyone!

My husband prefers Austin because his job has an office there. We have friends there too so it would be fun. Apartments are double the price to that of Amarillo. But yes, I just realized that I applied on a Magnet hospital which is great! I got an offer at Seton Medical Center Austin (Neurology) so I'll be living in the Downtown area. I've been there once and I can say Austin is really an awesome place. What unit are you in?

I'll be at Seton Main as well, in the mother/baby unit.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say that I talked to a recruiter's assistant a while ago, and she told me that the last day that seton would offer any positions would be on the 26th. I dont know if it is still absolute, but at least those who havent heard back by then hopefully will have some sort of closure.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!

Ps if anyone is on the pulmonary unit at seton main come say hi to me:) we can be residency buddies

I'll be at Seton Main as well, October 8th can't come soon enough. Hope to meet you!

Hi everyone, I'm an ADN RN student with some LVN experience and would love to do a residency once I graduate. I was wondering if any of you knew of which positions Seton only hires BSNs and/or which hospitals. I would love any helpful advice you could offer.

As far as hospitals here in Austin, there are 2 main systems: St. David's and Seton Healthcare. They both hire ADNs. The majority of my classmates with an ADN got hired into St. David's around town and only a select few, myself included that got hired into Seton. When I applied, I was also enrolled in an RN-BSN program so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with me being hired but I say just go for it, have a presentable resume and ace your interviews. It's worth a shot!
