i just finished my last year of pre reqs, and i have a lot of interviews for nursing programs coming up. does anyone have any advice, and or what types of questions they might ask. one i know will be "why do you want to be a nurse"? what kind of answer are they looking for...i mean honestly im not quite sure what drives me to want to be a nurse, i just do. anyway, if anyone has any advice please let me know.

These are questions i was asked
1.) What are your short term and long term goals?
2.) When did you find out you wanted to be a nurse?
3.) Are you working right now and if you are full time or part time? ( my nursing advisor suggested that I not work at all, b/c this will require most of my time)
4.) What type of learner are you? (It's important to know this so you know exactly how to study, I'm a visual learner
5.) Is there a specialty that you would like to go in?
My nursing advisor also gave me some advice, she told me that classical music helps retain the information more and to use it when I'm studying and she also told my sis to take vitamins and stay healthy

If you're asked why you want to be a nurse, I would AVOID giving the trite answer of "because I want to help people".
Even if that's exactly how you feel, you have to find another way to express it, something they haven't heard a million times over.
