Any 2018 Portland area nursing program applicants?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hi! I've applied to MHCC, PCC & CCC & was curious to who else has applied! How many points did you all calculate you had for schools applied to? I believe I have about 63 for MHCC, 53 for PCC & around 49 for CCC which doesn't seem like enough points. I'm so excited! I check my email more than 5x a day & it's not even near the end of March yet haha!

My points were around the same too... I have some work and volunteer experience, but only applied with 3/4 creds and about a 3.7 GPA.

We'll see! Fingers crossed !

p.s. I added you to my friends list.

Hm, I have all my prerequisites done and about a 3.6-3.7 GPA. I have work experience as well. I think you'll be fine as long as you have a good amount of points. I went to many of the nursing information sessions for the schools I applied to, and PCC/MHCC gave good stats on the points etc needed for previous years. I can't wait till the end of March! I literally think about it all day long haha.

Omg I know right! I check my mail everyday too.... I know it will be about a month or so before we even hear peep hahaha but regardless.

I went to a PCC session last year and no surprises there, I guess it is just wait and see...

Any plan B if you don't get in this year.... I know ...don't even want to think about it...but just being real :) If I don't get in this year I will probably try for CNA for a year then reapply next year. So either way I'm okay hehe, but here is hoping for the best to us all !

Pretty sure we'll find out the last wk of the month!& I didn't really have a plan B at first. I was had a mindset where I HAVE to get in. But now I'm thinking maybe I'll get my CNA2? Save up some money. Maybe get my med aide.

& it's be good to rack up CNA experience hours!

Oh hello... So how is it for you being a CNA 1 by the way :) I hear Prestige is good. 3 years is a pretty good amount of experience.

And I know what you mean I have the same mentality hehe but it's always good to have plan B :D

It's alright, I'd rather have my cna2 of course. It's a tough job. I can't wait for the next few weeks to go by!

Hi there ladies!!

I am also waiting to here back from PCC.

I applied for both PCC and OHSU but for financial reasons hoping for PCC.

I just got an email from MHCC they are already sending out the interview invites--sadly I was declined so fingers crossed for PCC and or Clack. :D

How many points did you have?

I applied with a 3.8 GPA, All prerequisites completed, and 10 years of Certified Medical Assistance experience. I am also fully bilingual and currently work in as a Dual employee interpreting medical appointments for patients when needed. I am anxious to see if I am called in to the Proctored essay. Starting to think about things that I would say if invited.

Got invited to the OHSU school of nursing interview!!! Email came in this morning!
