Info(RN)matics said:Hi JP0427 - Where are you based in NY? What kind of project do you have to complete for your capstone?
Thanks for your response. I am based in NYC, specifically in the Bronx but can complete preceptorship remotely. The project would essentially be a proposal for system optimization or change at the preceptors site based on a problem at the organization, but the plan will not actually be implemented. The preceptor would provide resources/information.
I'm seeking a Healthcare Informatics Preceptor to guide me through my 150-hour practicum experience as I apply my expertise in EHR systems, data analytics, and healthcare IT in a real-world setting. Experience can be virtual or onsite in Louisiana, Texas, or Florida.
Ideal preceptors hold a Master's degree in Health Informatics, HIM, Public Health Informatics, or a related fieldand have at least two years of experience in informatics, IT, or HIM.
This is a great opportunity to mentor a passionate Health Informatics graduate student and contribute to the future of healthcare technology!
I am currently a student at The Grand Canyon University and my practicum experience to begin in July 2025
If you or someone in your network is interested, let's connect!
Best Regards,
Kerry-Ann Scarlett, BSN, RN

Hi! Looking for a Preceptor in New York for my MSN in nursing informatics at Western Governors University clinical practice experiences/capstone from July-October.
The preceptor requirements include:
- Have a Master's degree (or higher) in Nursing
- an active RN License In NY (or compact)
- Have at least two years of experience in health informatics (like data mgmt, experience with implementation or optimization, etc.)
I do not have to shadow you and you are also not obligated to spend a required number of hours with me, as the course is self-paced. We can communicate remotely via email, text, or any method that works best for you.
Please let me know if you can assist! I plan to graduate in November.
