Nurse 2 Be

Hi Folks,
Does anyone know what the nursing programmes are like in Northern Ireland? I've been told that the nursing programmes in England are easier to get into. A student nurse I chatted with who was studying here had to drop out a year because she got a bit of her coursework wrong, which seems pretty harsh. I know Nursing is a tough programme, but surely the lectures know that every student will make a mistake as they're only learning.

Usually you get a couple of tries but if that doesn't work then you have to leave the course. Not sure if nurse training in Ireland is any different to the UK

hi im from ni but am a nusing student in manchester,
uu has gone degree only
qub still offers dip/deg options
yes if yu fail academically you can be kiced off the course however none more so than any other course in a uni.
i know of nurses having come through qub, at the end of the common foundation they are a lot who don't make it. however most unis want to help student.
i think most of us from ni percieve english univeristyes to be easiar however all course need to be approved by the nmc. in saying that my uni manchester met seems compared to another in the area to be more demanding academically
how far along did your mate get to?
She got to the beginning of 2nd year.
