Anybody know about the new Evidence of Practice Requirement? I graduated in 2009 in ONTARIO , and I passed my CPRNE on January 2013, but I can't register with CNO because of I have no Evidence of practice within the last 3 years. I am still waiting for the CNO response to my case, but I do know how long I need to wait for. Does anybody know or is in the same situation.

You know what if you live in Toronto it's better to go to CNO office and you ask in person your concern(s). you will get the response right a way. That's what I did last week, I was so worried about my evidence practice requirements and have a lots of questions that's needs to be answered. so i went there and i got an answers in less than an hour,.It's ok to send an email to them but takes you forever to get a response.

I wasn't clear, do you or do you not know how long you have to wait for your letter of direction from the CNO?

Hi feljade20 & dishes, Thanks you for replying my question. Actually I went to CNO twice. Last time it was two weeks ago. I also called them on last Friday, Mar 13, but still l did not get any answer. They said no body know what the next step I should do and they do not know how long I need to wait for.

Teljade 20, are you a RPN or RN. I know there is refreshment for the RN, but not for RPN. Are you going back to school on May. Are we in same situation?

I don't know what CNO meant when they told you that "no one knows the next steps". I think (but I don't know) that the registration committee members will meet to discuss your case and make the decision, then a letter of direction will be sent to you. I imagine the registration committee has a lot of work, so maybe they cannot predict a time frame for the decision but you should at least be told who makes the decision and what the process is.

BTW, there is a refresher course for RPNs at Centennial it is called "practical nurse bridging program for IENs", you do not have to be an IEN Full-Time Programs | 9352 Practical Nursing Bridging Program for Internationally-Educated Nurses | Overview

I'm will be an RPN soon.. Well we're not really in a very same situation, there's just a misunderstanding or whatsoever between me and the Cno about my the evidence of practice. I don't know why they don't know that my evidence of practice is still covered with my nursing program cause I graduated last 2011.

The continuing education departing for nursing at George Brown College offers a practical placement for RPNs. You may consider checking to see if thats an acceptable option. Maybe you can get a temp licence to practice for this clinical component.
