You requested not to have me as your nurse because....WHAT?!

Nurses Humor

Thought some of you might get a chuckle out of this. A couple of months ago a frequent flyer was in, I gave him great care, kept on top of his pain w/ very frequent pain meds, was very friendly and overall had a good shift with him. Next day he requests not to have me, the charge nurse didn't ask, neither did I when I found out, I was just very perplexed. I am told today he was back and that he requested not to have the nurse he stated "was too nursey." So I guess that's me. Not sure what he means by "too nursey," but as an RN for 9 years I take it as a compliment! People just make me wonder sometimes.

WOW. That's pretty funny. :lol2:

Shame on you for doing your job so well. :nono: You better straighten your act up. LOL

Apparently he wants a Nurse he can complain about, or you possibly didn't behave in a manner he wanted, like: flirting or joking. Sometimes you can't win no matter what you do.

However here are some tips to please him;

1. disappear from the floor so he has to wait an extra hour (or 2) to get his meds.

2. wear Nursing Dresses, real short ones with the top 4 buttoms undone

3. roll your eyes whenever he speaks to you

4. tell him it's not your job when he asks for water, soda, a snack, whatever

I'm sure he will love your "Nursing Skills" again. And want you back!

My 32 year old cousin has always been deathly afraid of Reagan from the Exorcist movies. So, when she went in to deliver her baby, and her nurse came into the room, she went into hysterics when the nurse looked just like Linda Blair! It took her husband over an hour (and a promise from the nurse to not come back into the room) to get her out of the bathroom.

wow! Too "nursey"....!!??? I've heard it ALL now!

Tatudgrl....I'm sorry your cousin was so traumatized, really---but I had to smile a little only because I am SOO haunted by that movie, too!!!! It would've probably bothered me a bit, too....I'd keep imagining her face all scarred with those SCARY eyes, and wait for her to speak in that SCARY low voice......

And her head spin around and vomit pea-green soup everywhere! Ewwwww, that movie traumatized me when I was a teenager! To this day I will not watch it!

I have to admit though I smiled at the vision of the cousin not retreating from the bathroom until the Linda Blair look-a-like nurse disappeared and promised not to return.

It happened almost six years ago and we both laugh about it now. But it's still quite a story to tell!lol

Ha! I too have been found guilty of this.
