I wish I found this site a little earlier but it's better late than never I guess. Some background information on me I'm a freshmen at APU (Azusa Pacific University) Azusa, Ca and I'm hoping to get into the nursing program here.
So class started about 2 weeks ago and I just recently got first human anatomy grade back (68.5%) and on top of that I'm only getting C's and B's in my other classes (Chem Lecture). The class I'm doing the best in would be my human anatomy lab. I feel like I can't keep up with this work and it's definitely not because I don't study. On some days I have class in the afternoon and then class at night so between that time period (3-4 hours) I use all that time to study but I still got that D+ on my first exam. To top it all off our next exam is on the axial skeleton and the skull which in the textbook if you look at it there are so many different lines point at different things that even when I just look at it my head starts to hurt :[ What I'm trying to get to here is has anyone ever been in the same situation as me like at first it was really difficult but you guys somehow managed to find a way through it? Nursing is the only profession that I could myself doing (Absolutely love social interaction with people and being able to help others in need is a great feeling. To be honest too the money and job security doesn't hurt either. I also don't wanna be doing a 9-5 job behind the desk.... BORING)
What I'm also worried about is (this question is for people that are already a licensed nurse) Do you guys really remember everything that you guys learned from your 1st year studies lets take for example.. so my human anatomy class part of the exam was like about connective tissues/epithelium and so on and the different layers of skin like stratum lucidum/spinosum/granulosum. I mean like in high school you studied for a test then you forgot about it the next week but in nursing it's probably a different story yes?
SOME MOTIVATION/TIPS/GUIDANCE would really be appreciated. :D
Oh and I thought I'd just add this. Only 40 people get accepted for the next semester (spring) and to even be considered you have to achieve a GPA of 3.0 which at this point seems very effin difficult. And if you don't get in the spring semester you have to re-apply in the fall so yes I'm getting kind of desperate here and I want this really bad.

I also had trouble making sense of the pictures of the skull. I found it is much easier to learn the skull if you can take it apart and handle all the bones. Time in the anatomy lab doing that is worth more than looking at books, and makes the later book time more productive.
