I really have no true idea, but I have a cousin in Key West who tells me the hospitals are primarily staffed with traveling nurses as the cost of living is so high, most nurses can't afford to practice there unless their living expenses are subsidized. He is not a nurse, so I don't know how accurate that truly is.
He also said it's really hard to make yourself go to work everyday because it's so beautiful & so much to do all the time. There could be worse problems to have IMO, LOL.
Good luck, sounds like a really nice future.

Thanks...my wife and I are pretty motivated, so we'll see how it works out. If they pay travelers, then they'll love to save money on me. I'm a private pilot, and if needed, I'll commute to Dade/Broward to keep the cash flowing.

My wife and I have made the decision that in 3 years will move our family of 3 down to Marathon from Central Florida. We are both sailors, singers, and I'm fortunately an RN. We are looking for input from anyone who has worked in the Keys as an RN. I'm aware of the hospitals in Key Largo, Marathon, and Key West... What are they like, how's the staffing and what's the realistic expectation of finding work there? I'll commute to Dade county if I have to, but that'd definately not plan "A". We appreciate any and all information.
