I'm a married and mother of two toddlers. I love spending time with my family. I'm about to be done with my pre reqs, and start applying to nursing programs 2019. My husband is also a nurse and work very long hours...what field of nursing into the hospital that I could go into that makes me work minimal hours? I want to be a good nurse, but I don't want to work long hours, because my kids at least need one parent with a good/flexible schedule.

Per diem nurses have a lot of flexibility with their working days.
In my hospital, the minimum work requirement is one 12-hour shift in a 2 week pay period plus one winter and one summer holiday.
For family reasons, I have worked one or two shifts a week for a long time. This is possible because I have a husband who has a full time job that pays for health insurance, and I fund my own retirement account.
Be aware, that as a new grad, you will likely have to work the long hours full-time for at least a year or two before you are eligible for a per diem position. The hours are not guaranteed either. I am home typing this because the census is low and I got the phone call to stay home.
