I did not buy any books and I did well. And I have not been in school in 18 years!
On the test I took, I had to brush up on math...long division, fractions, graphs, and basic algebra. There was a long reading section that tested comprehension. Also there was a critical thinking section that check your ability to choose the best answer out of many right choices.
That's about it. HTH! Good luck!!

hi scrape!
i took the net in order to gain acceptance into my lpn program. there is no 'nursing stuff' on the test at all. it is just basic math (decimals, fractions, mult, div, etc) and reading comprehension. i must say the reading portion was much more difficult than the math only because they allowed us 30 minutes to complete it, which was not nearly enough time to finish. whatever you do: don't leave anything blank!!
good luck!!

hope this helps. the the lpn study guide helped in math, but the science portion was of no help. the nln i took in march had alot of electricity questions. i left feeling frustrated. only took 1 week to get scores back. i got a 136.
