Hi everyone! I am looking for feedback on what would be some good ideas to write about in my essay. Should I explain my past to illustrate my experience with family, should I kiss up to them? I am looking for any and all input. Thank you in advance!

Just answer the question. Tell them why you want to be a nurse.

Totally agree with the previous poster. Start by summarizing the truth. Then pretty it up a bit. Then run it by us for suggestions on how to spruce it up a bit. But the heart and soul of it should be the truth. Anything else, you risk sounding insincere -- and that is bad. Remember: the readers may be people who have read hundreds of such essays. If so, you will not fool them with anything less than the truth.
Tip: Don't be too mushy, gushy, or naive. You don't want to gag the people reading it, either. Give them a break by giving them something interesting to read and they will like you better.

You want to be truthful, you want it to be interesting, you do want it to be tailored to the school but not in a manufactured way (it will show), you want to be respectful not a kiss ass.
I agree with pps, write 500 words and then come back and post it and we'll help you kick it up a notch if needed.
