Nursing diagnoses for post trigeminal neuralgia

I am looking for a nursing diagnoses that is not at risk for or potential for. My pt had trigeminal neuralgia but had surgery: Craniotomy; neurovascular decompression. He is doing well now with mild numbness in cheek and upper lip on the left side (operative side). He hasn't eaten solid food for over a year, he is overweight and has lost over 54 lbs in the past year. It would be nice if he could keep that weight off. He is very talkative, now that he can without pain, and expresses excitment about being able to eat solid foods but complains of filling stuffed and doesn't feel like eating when his tray comes. I am worried about his nutrition and wondering if the nursing diagnosis readiness for enhanced nutrition would fit with this pt. He hasn't had a BM for 5 days but is passing gas. I'm looking for some help pulling this one together.

any nursing diagnoses that you use are always going to be based upon the symptoms that your patient has. these are obtained from your assessment of the patient. from the information that you have listed, you patient has the following:

  • mild numbness in cheek and upper lip on the left side
  • overweight but has lost over 54 lbs in the past year
  • complains of filling stuffed and doesn't feel like eating when his tray comes
  • hasn't had a bm for 5 days but is passing gas

based on these defining characteristics (nanda terminology) i would use these nursing diagnoses:
