Nursing degree required in Canada..

World International

Which Canadian provinces will only take degree educated international nurses? I did a three year training program (RGN) in the Uk and have not got a degree. I have been in the U.S since 1995. It would be easier to know now before I start applying which ones would accept me. Thanks!

me again.

You want to have your education reviewed by the College of Registered Nurses in the province you wish to live in.

Here in Alberta, the degree only became mandatory for new grads this last year. Nurses who were diploma educated are "grandfathered" (basically their education is accepted for the time they were educated).

I've worked with diploma nurses from the US who have moved up here.

So ultimately, it all comes down to the paper pushers at the College.
