Hello all,
I am new to this website...it is great! I have a question for anyone that would know. I heard from someone that you could go back to school and get your RN as long as you had a Bachelor's degree in any field. I wanted to take the online RN program, but didn't know if I could do that. I don't want to go back to become an LPN...does anyone know? Please help!! Thanks a bunch...Misstamera!

There are second degree programs that are accelerated if you already have a Bachelors in another field. The only online one that comes to mind is UWOSH http://www.uwosh.edu/con/undergraduate-bsn/accelerated-online-bachelors-to-bsn/
I think they are still accepting applications for the October 2011 cohort. Here is that link http://www.uwosh.edu/con/undergraduate-bsn/accelerated-online-bachelors-to-bsn/documents/OCTOBER%202011%20APPLICATION.pdf
Thank you...this helps!

You may be accepted into an accelerated BSN program but you couldn't do it all online. You need to actually attend for skills labs and clinical placements.

You can get your RN with or without a BA. Take two years no matter your past degree, unless it is an LPN and you go to a school that lets you challenge nursing one and two.

The Univ. of Texas (various branches) offers accelerated degrees. They have affiliations with agencies to help you with clinical rotations. The nursing part is still two years, just like ADN programs, but you end up with BSN in nursing due to having previously acquired the pre-reqs (or most of them) in your first degree program. Bascially, you are making that first degree work for you!

there are a handful of programs in the New England area that offer RN degrees for those who have a Bachelors in another field. PM me if you want more info!
