RN + Engineering degree

  1. What can I do with these two degrees? I am on a waiting list right now for my RN and am working as a tech. In the meantime, I was working on my BSN prereq's but due to family issues, I'm going to get my ADN first. I want to stay in school while I'm waiting and I'm seriously looking at getting an engineering degree.

I love math and numbers and have had several math and chemistry instructors urge me to go further into those fields so I feel I could do very well in this field as well but I"m just wondering if there is a field of work where I could use both degrees.

How about designing medical equipment? Knowing how things are actually used would seem to me to be a great advantage in designing equipment that works well for the people who use it.

When I read your post, I immediately thought of biomedical engineering. You should definitely look into it. It can involve designing medical equipment or even tissue engineering, depending on what you would like to do. Bioengineers are in high demand, make a good salary, and have great working hours.

my house mates doing biomed engineering at uni. he loves it. i don't understand why you want to persue nursing if down the track you know you'll do engineering. i doubt youll get any credit or any thing advantageous doing nursing first. i started out at uni studying civil engineering. i quit after the first year because i wanted to work with people not things.. or structures. but hey. do what pleases you
