RN, CNA, MA or EMT

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hello

I have a question... I'm a single mother and wanting to go back to school. Preferably ending up with a position that pays well and education isn't too demanding. I live in a ski resort area and so CNA's and EMT's have many opportunities but average pay is $17/hour. Would love to become an RN but am nervous about the education demands of being in school full time for 2 years. I would consider becoming a CNA first while in school for RN... MA would be good but want to do more than just front desk stuff. SO, my main question is which one? I'm also 38 and haven't started on my retirement fund.

Priority List

1. Salary

2. career longevity

3. school- duration -vs difficulty

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
