I am a mom of two and currently pregnant with my 3rd. I work part time and I love my job. My issue is, I work only during the week. Which is great. However, I am overwhelmed during the week and do miss when I was working more weekend shifts so that I would spend more time at home during the week. I have thought a lot about it and think that I want to do a weekend program after this baby comes. I have about 3 months to go in this pregnancy. I could either wait until after the baby is born to pursue a weekend job.... but there is an opening listed at a hospital 10 mins from me for a weekend program. Should I go for it? Would they be cool with letting me orient to the position and then take time off for maternity leave? Has anyone taken a new job at this point in their pregnancy? Am I crazy for thinking this, and should just chill out and wait until after the baby is born to look for something?

Ah never mind I decided to stay put. I am almost done with the pregnancy after all, so after the little guy arrives I will decide. But after he is born I will be looking!

I think that staying put is probably a good idea. I don't think that they'd be to keen on hiring someone and then giving them that time off immediately when they could probably find someone for the position that would not need that time off. Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy and your post-pregnancy Job Search :)
