I was wondering if doing a nursing b.s degree is much harder to do online rather than in class. I was thinking about trying to work regularly and do the program online since it would be easier that way, but I didnt know if really it would be more work?

Are you already a nurse (LPN or RN with an associates degree)?
I am not going to say that online courses are harder or easier than their in-class counterparts. I will say that online and distance-based courses tend to include more busy work such as papers, assignments, quizzes, and discussion board participation than if you had been taking up butt-space in a brick-and-mortar classroom.

I worked more than full-time and still managed to get through the evening-weekend nursing program at my local community college. Your life is busy for a couple of years but it is doable.
In one sense, an on-line program would have been easier since you can take your "class" at any time that's convenient for you. I missed quite a few classes because of work and had it not been for some understanding instructors, could have been dismissed from the program (this would not have been the case if I missed clinicals however and thankfully I only missed 2 days). Speaking of clinicals, this is an area that I think is tougher in an on-line program - many programs require you to set your own rotations up. Some provide a lot of help, others not so much. Personally, I would find this to be a very daunting task.
