nursing agencies-Sydney Northern Beaches

Published

Anyone have any experience with different nursing agencies serving the northern beaches in Sydney? Which to avoid and which are OK?

Anyone work with Nursing Australia or Pulse?

Heya... I worked for two... both slightly dodgy.

Network Nursing Agency ... not too bad, they gave me the jobs in the places I wanted... paid okay..

Australian Nursing Network... gave me lots of really crap jobs but they pay heaps... especially on the weekend!!

Not sure about any others :)

Hi, I'm new to this allnurses.com site and can't figure out how to write to you directly so sorry to butt into this message with my own personal question.

I'm a nurse working in the U.S. I have 4 years experience and have been travel nursing in the U.S. for the past year. I'm looking to move to Australia permanently and was looking into how to go about that process when I came across your reply, julianne.00, to someone else a couple years ago. Now that you are over there and no the ropes was wondering if you have any specific advice you could give. You had stated a recruiting agency you worked with that helped you step by step? Do you have a name/number/etc....? I'm going to start with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia but having someone help with things that know the in's and out's is always reassuring. Any advice would be appreciated greatly.

My email is [email protected] if that would be easier too.

THANKS!

Hi,

I recently joined NNA but not enough shifts.

They only give 2 shifts a week. I asked for more but no more given.

Do you know why? Maybe I am new grad RN?

I am really curious anyone receiving enough shifts which are they want.

Specializes in Surg- PACU/Anaes.

I work for both Health Care Australia and Kemp. Even if I was just with the one, I get 4 days a week (I could get 5 but I prefer 4). All sorts of hospitals and clinics. I'm RN year 4.

In terms of only being based in northern beaches I can't really help you- there aren't that many facilities unless you count nursing homes- there's only Manly and Mona Vale hosps. You might want to branch out to the city!

Hi,

I newly joined in agency and have really concern.

They give me few shifts and cancel it in last minute!!

Today it happened again...

Is this things common? I am really frustrated and have difficulties with financial issue..

Please any comments..

They have no control over the fact that the hospitals can cancel last minute if they find one of their own staff members to cover their shift :(

I'm an agency nurse and I never ran out of shifts (orthopedic scrub/scout) my suggestion is , do your job prOperly and make a strong impression on the staff, that way they will request to have you instead of another agency nurse. I have noticed some nurses and agency nurses I work with just don't care about the job. They just go to work and perform in a mediocre fashion. Don't be like that nurse.
