Hello Nurse Beth!
I am currently in an ADN program and am at risk for receiving a clinical marginal. This means I will receive nothing higher than a letter of grade of 'C' in my first semester of nursing. Should I continue with the program if I want to pursue a BSN?
Dear Getting a C in clinical,
In and of itself getting one C will not prevent you from being accepted into a BSN program. The school will look at your overall nursing GPA.
The important thing is to figure out the reason for the low grade, so you can improve. Have you talked with your instructor and taken steps to remedy your performance?
Is it something easily fixable, such as being late to clinicals? Whatever the problem is, you have been given a message, and it is to change your performance.
Good luck- let me know how it's going and if there's any way I can help you. Talk to other students here on site at the Student Forum.
Best wishes,
Nurse Beth
