Hi All. I'm new to this forum but I've been reading it for quiet some time and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I earned a Bachelors degree in 2003 and I'm changing to nursing now. I didn't do so well (2.4 GPA) but I've been taking science classes at a local school and have about 30 credits with a 4.0. I applied to Adelphi and LIU for Spring 07. And today I just got a letter telling me that I didn't get into LIU. I really don't know what to do. Do I have a good chance at getting into Adelphi? I'm supposed to take the NET on Saturday.
Any Advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi, first off, Im sorry you didn't get into LIU's Nursing program. My advice to you is to keep applying to programs until you get into one! Not to be negative, but if you didnt get into LIU, you don't have a good chance getting into Adelphi neither. From my knowledge, LIU requires a minimum GPA of 2.75 in college or a 85 % from High school.Adelphi, on the other hand, requires a minimum gpa of 3.0 and a good score on the NET.What I suggest you do is study hard for the NET.With a high score , but a low GPA , they might notice your determination and dedication.Give it a try! Im praying you get in .Good luck to you!

Hi,
I'm in the same predicament. I actually spoke face-to-face w/ an advisor at Adeplhi and she was not very helpful at all she mentioned that they were now accepting students with 3.6 gpa. Either way, I'll be taking the NET in December. I'm extremely frustrated but nothing is ever easy.

Myabe try applying to nyu their gpa min is 2.8. It's a great school and they do admitt ppl with gpa's lower then 2.8.......you have to write a good letter and explaine why you didn't do so well in your under grad........
I would suggest calling them and speaking with somone or going to one of there many open houses. NYU's staff is generally helpful and very nice!
Best of luck ...
