Leadership: The Bridge Across the Quality Chasm

    The IOM report, Crossing the Quality Chasm, made the connection between effective leadership and finding solutions to address the ever-increasing costs and uneven quality in healthcare delivery in the U.S. Similarly, executives from the healthcare industry have made a connection between the need for educating and developing future generations of leaders with the need to address the quality issues that have been raised repeatedly. The result is the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL), which crosses disciplines and sectors to provide advanced education programs along all career points with the objective of improving organizational performance.

    The total cost for participation is $20,000 per person."

    That counts me out!

    That price is mind boggling. It is the cost of a year or two in in the most expensive nursing school. However, the fact that someone somewhere realizes that healthcare managment has to stop managing and start leading is encouraging.
