Not necessarily. Usually 'unencumbered RN license' is part of the admission requirements. I checked a handful of programs I know of and they all say the same.

I've spoke to about 10 and they all require unencumbered licenses. I have doctors willing to let me do clinicals with them. I can't get past admissions. I'm currently working as an RN with few stipulations and I'd be off probation before graduation. Still, no go.

A lot of this has to do with accreditation. It sounds like you will just have to wait until your license is clear.

When I was toying with grad school (I have since decided to put it on the back burner. I have other immediate concerns like getting done with this ******* program and leaving it behind me) the closest I got to potentially getting in to a school was at a tiny, private, absurdly expensive school. I had to have a face to face meeting with the dean of the program, who while was very understanding also was not going to blow smoke at me. She told me she was going to have to take the issue to the rest of the admissions committee. There would be no garauntees and even if it flew, that did not mean clinicals would be an easy find.

Some of it may be accreditation. I think a lot of it is also the wide variance in what constitutes 'supervison' for these contracts and the concern of the liability that the grad programs feel they are taking on.

Yeah I finished by DNP while in nurse monitoring. They (PNAP) would not allow me to do clinicals but classes were no problem. As far as getting into school, I am in the voluntary / non disciplinary program in my state which means that my current license is unencumbered so I would NOT report that fact to schools I may be applying to

I completed my whole MSN FNP program and graduated while being in PNAP. The problem arises when applying with the state with your new license because they might add restrictions to your DEA license. But I ended up telling the school I was in the drug program and it wasn't a problem. You just need to tell the state about your in clinical because you need supervision.
