Blood testing

I have been selected for testing for recovery trek and it's a blood test. I have always been tested by urinalysis so I'm confused what the blood testing is for? Just curious ... it says P1 blood testing... thanks

I never thought about it that way. I guess technically they can do whatever they want. Lol. They randomly increased me to 4 times a month until I called and asked. They said oh, we don't know, it will go back to twice... I was upset bc of the $ amount of the tests. I've come to terms that I can't have a drink.. it's still very frustrating to me.

I understand the money situation completely. You can push through wanting a drink and remember you not the only one going through the struggle. Thanks again

No problem, since you did have that drink, and if it does come back trace amounts.. admit NOTHING. Possibly admit to listerine or having some desert with extract in it, and you didnt even think about it. B/c really the Peth is looking for binge drinking.

FYI don't know about your program, but lie detector tests are brought out in some when you fail a peth. It's the last line of testing if an EtG is positive and they consider it the bench mark. You will probably pass but don't drink again. Always remember, if tests are faulty and you get false positives, you want to be able to pass that lie detector.

Really? I didnt know about that... I wonder how much that test would cost. Jeez

Wow so crazy ... but thanks everyone... I hate walking into something blind. This whole thing is costing me 200$ total and I just got charge 50$ for a urine test I took last week.

IS IT JUST ME OR ARE WE GETTING ROBBED !!!!!!!! I rarely drink at this point I am so over stressing I'm just letting God handle it.

You need to change that "rarely" to "never" until you are out of monitoring. It sucks, and I loved a cold beer or glass of wine as much as the next normal person, not an alcoholic, just enjoyed my cocktails, so I get it. But "just 1 beer" will get you kicked out. It is not worth it. Use all the stress you're feeling now and remember it to help you abstain completely in the future. I'm not in monitoring for alcohol either, it's just part of it.

Yep. We pee in gold cups.. whereas the criminals who are on task are only charged $5-7. Cool right. I'm in the same boat as recovering rn as well. Yesterday I was shopping, stopped for a late lunch, a nice glass of wine sounded great. Nope. Not worth it. 2 1/2 more years and then I'll have that wine. It was a struggle to accept that, bc I don't drink, and now I can't. But it's not forever.

You are correct. I just feel like it's a set up. Almost like we are being set up to fail while the ones judging us probably sin the same or worse than some of us and we are basically paying them to sit back and judge. Yeah I messed up and I did it to myself but I really think the program needs revamped and reviewed. I stopped my drug use months before I even entered the program. I just want to keep my license. Either way I am the one under the microscope and I can only blame myself, but that's what makes us and build our characters is our mistakes. God didn't make anyone perfect because we all are on separate paths and not one rock is shaped the same, and he created all things in his image.

I would give anything to turn back father time and make my situation right. Thanks for the advice and you are 100% right in order to be better and come out on top is to do better. Thanks so much

Hey, if you are mandated for treatment and drug testing by CPS everything is FREE!!!!!!! Maybe their using my 170.00$ a month in testing to subsidize this program. Not.

Specializes in OR.

Probably preaching to the choir but I am sure you know darn well that the only thing our money subsidizes is the pocket linings of the people who have ownership interest in Affinity, RecoveryTrek and these programs.

Yeah where I come from we call the THE ENFORCERS .
